Thursday’s ‘DUI Joe Show’ to Feature Interview With Media Vet Scott Schaefer

This Thursday’s ‘DUI Joe Show‘ will feature an interview with media veteran and local internet entrepreneur Scott Schaefer, Founder/Publisher/Editor of local indie business South King Media.

Schaefer will share real-life tales of getting started as a TV Writer/Producer at KING-TV’s “Almost Live!”, then spending six years working in Hollywood with various celebs (listen closely for his infamous Zsa Zsa Gabor story) before transitioning full-time to Internet Publishing and Radio.

If you’re not yet familiar with it, The DUI Joe Show is a fun, fast-paced (less than 10-minute), informative local talk show that airs every Thursday, every fours hours beginning at 12:15 a.m.

And the Host, “DUI Joe” is actually Joseph Breidenbach, a Burien-based attorney who’s an excellent talker and interviewer, and that’s why he’s got his own show.

Following are some testimonials from actual listeners:

Joe: Before your scheduled show I turned on the “station”. They were playing dream music with psychedelic accompaniment on the screen. I fell asleep at the desk and missed your show. OK, better luck next week. ?

- Tom in Burien, WA

Wonderful voice, and very interesting talk….loved it!!!!!!!!!!

- Connie in Federal Way, WA

Good show. We went to CamillePatha.com and looked at her work. Interesting show, Interesting paintings.

- Ron in Temecula, CA

Don: Addictive. Interesting contrast on a great artist today. Syndication?

- Jeffrey in Lynnwood, WA

Joe — you are one of the most engaging interviewers I’ve ever heard. You’re a natural! I’m referring, of course, to your internet radio show. I just heard it for the first time and I loved it. Your guest was terrific and interesting, and you had such an upbeat and interested style of questioning. I particularly loved the bleeps! Such fun. Will try to remember to make this a regular noontime stop on Thurs. Best wishes,

- Ann M. Guinn in Kent, WA

And thanks to the hard work and mad skillz of his Producer Don King of No Script Studio, The DUI Joe Show airs every Thursday, every four hours:

  • 12:15 a.m.
  • 4:15 a.m.
  • 8:15 a.m.
  • 12:15 p.m.

The Kingdogs Will Rock All Star Sports Bar in Des Moines Saturday

Get ready for some good ol’ rock-n-roll this Saturday, April 7, at the All Star Sports Bar in Des Moines. Showtime: 9pm. No cover charge.

In the spirit of full disclosure, The Kingdogs‘ lead singer, Chris Egerton, was a fellow classmate of this blog’s editor Scott Schaefer and staffer Mark Neuman, back in the old days at West Seattle High School.

However, also in that same spirit of full disclosure, we can vouch that these guys put on one darn good show of high energy, one-after-another oldies.

The Kingdogs motto:

“Spreading Rabid Rock and Roll across the Pacific Northwest!”

“Last time we played the All Star Sports Bar the placed filled up right away and they had to turn away a whole bunch of people who wanted to see us,” Egerton told us recently. “Come early folks! They’ve got their own cool thing going on down there.”

Two of The Kingdogs, bassist Stan Benson and Ed Barbuti, guitar and vocals, grew up in Des Moines.

Rounding out The Kingdogs are Ken Brooks on drums and guitarist Mike Adams.

“Drums been bery bery good to me,” Brooks says on The Kingdogs website: www.TheKingdogs.com

You can catch some of Egerton’s earlier work with his band The Eagertones in the regular playlist on our new internet radio station: www.sokinginternetradio.com

Here’s how YOU can get a FREE oval SKiR sticker!

We just received another batch of the iconic SKiR oval car stickers, and YOU can now get yours for FREE by stopping into the Tin Room Bar and asking for one!

The Tin Room Bar is located at 923 SW 152nd Street in Olde Burien, and its sister joint The Tin Theater played host to our great Launch Party on Feb. 15, 2012.

Drop in, ask the bartender, and if his name happens to be Mike, after you say “please sir may I have a SKiR sticker?” tell him you dig his psychedelic band Trip Like Animals, which we play frequently!

Then, put the sticker on your car (or over your mouth, on your butt, etc.) and proudly show the world that you support local music by listening to the area’s only independent, all-local internet radio station!
